Mini Monkeyz

Mini monkeys is our toddler room within our nursery. The room caters for children aged between 2 years to 3 years.

The children are supervised at all times within a staff ratio of one staff member to either three or four children depending on the age of the child.

The room is brightly decorated and stimulating for the children all staff are highly motivated and attentive to the children’s needs and guide the play which results in self-motivation and problem solving skills, the staff continue to give the children challenging yet achievable activities to participate in to encourage them to further their development such as jigsaws, building bricks, farm sets, train sets, dressing up, dolls, puppets, garage etc.

The room consists of a main room, a nappy changing room a toilet for the older children within the room and the main kitchen where the dinner is cooked and served.

The main room is set out in areas, these areas consist of:

• Mark making area
• Home corner
• Construction area
• Junk modelling area
• Sand and water area
• Soft play area
• Story area
• Sensory area
• Snack area
• Mathematics area

The room has a key person’s board (which we will go into more detail later in this pack), an Art Gallery Board which is used to show the children’s pictures and anything the children create in regards to celebrations throughout the year.
